10 One of architectural marvel that is shown here 'Raniji Ki Baori', Bundi was built in 1699 by Rani Nathavati Ji, the younger queen of Rao Raja Anirudh Singh, She turned her energies to public projects and building step wells, and Rani Ki Ji Baori is the largest in Bundi. It’s a multi-storied structure, 46 m deep stone carved deep step well of artistic beauty - a remarkable architectural style of the Rajputs. It is truly a marvel, exploring the intricate carvings of this monument. The walls on both sides of the step wells have been carved with temple and Hindu god statues. This indicates that then local people might have worshipped there. Every storey has temple structures. Ogee brackets intricately adorn the archways of this monument. There are two beautiful gates with arches, glorified with heavy artwork on the pillars. It has a narrow entrance with stone structures of elephants facing each other and is a Multi-storied structure. At the entrance, there are four pillars, which showcases beautiful figurine and there is a tall standing arch shaped gate. Elephant statue carved out of white marble. The last (3rd) gate of the step well is a beautiful one as it has the sculptures of elephants on all corners and it’s a delight to watch.
