Junagadh | 30000 sq.ft. | On going
Shree Vitthalesh Bhavan haveli at Junagadh will be a lovely and peaceful place that will be a must-visit for all Pustimargiya Vaishnavas!. The structure of the haveli consists of various rooms linked by verandas, passages, and courtyards, which is Pushti Marg that originated under the Bhakti movement of Vaishnavism, very different from Hindu temple architecture. The place is dedicated to the followers of the Pustimarg Vaishnav community in the Hindu religion. It will give one a feeling of ultimate inner peace and helps one connect with the almighty Shri Madanmohanji.
The pattern followed in this temple is the typical Haveli temple type with a courtyard. It has a straight flight of steps from the main road to the entrance till nij mandir and the façades are adorned by Rajasthani Architecture.
Several side pathways join the main pathway which leads to the main gate of Haveli. This Haveli is spread over a huge space with several small and large rooms interlinked with corridors, halls, and courtyards. Haveli has a very typical Rajasthani architectural style and similarly has the walls which are painted with the typical Rajasthani art.
There are three main entrances to access the Haveli:
1. Main Haveli entrance - This is the main entrance from where the public goes for Darshans. From here one enters the main parisar of the Haveli; straight ahead is the small chowk where bhakts collect and enter the Haveli. Through this Vaishnav can enter the Govardhan chowk. This chowk is rectangular, where the Govardhan Annakut festival will celebrate every year.
2. secondary entrance - both sides of the main entrance are secondary entrances. from there all Seva and Karykalap at the Haveli are held and occasionally used for Vaishnavas for Utsavadik.
Nij chowk is like the main chowk which is open to all bhakts in between darshans. In the center of this chowk is with the huge marble white Kamal and large fountains. According to various seasons and festivals, various Jhankis are made in this hall (Utsav Chowk) for Shreeji; like Hindolas, Nauka Vihar, Dol Utsav. During Diwali celebrations, the Swarup of Shreeji is brought out in the Utsav chowk in a Hatadi studded with mirrors. On Sharad Purnima, Raas Leela is held here.
Many parts of the Haveli are not open to the public, as from these points onwards are Shreeji’s Nij Mandir where only the Vallabhkul Parivar and sevaks called Bhetariya’s can go in, as strict Purity rules have to be followed.
The organization of the Haveli is like a community in Itself. All seva must run smoothly and accurately. Till today all traditional rules are followed perfectly; nothing can be changed. The most important rule that has to be followed by sevaks is the shuddhi - purity levels at all times, in samagri and seva. It is impossible to describe the aura and divinity of the place.
